We offer everything from fishing, swimming and hayrides to ceramics, peacocks and pirates
You are sure to find just the right spot with a general store, laundromat, clean showers, free cable and free WiFi.
Hidden Acres Family Campground may be hidden, but that is just one of the many great features that will keep your family coming back year after year. Just sit back, relax and soak up some sun beside the Quinebaug River, or if you’re feeling a bit more adventurous, grab a tube and jump on in! For the anglers among us, grab your pole, cast your line and bring in ‘the big one’.
We’ll get there on a Friday afternoon, and I barely see my kid till we leave on Sunday. When he comes in each night he’s usually dirty and tired, and very happy, which I love. If you’re looking for a safe and VERY family oriented campground, then I highly recommend this place. We just love this place, and we’re so thankful we found it.
We had a blast at this campground! Loved how they always had activities for the kids to do! Between scavenger hunts, to ball games, to ceramic paintings. Kids loved it here. Very well kept! Will recommend and return!!
This place is amazing! We thought the staff were so caring and nice. If you are looking for a family campground that is clean and has so many free activities we would suggest you try it.
We had a wonderful time camping as a family. Super clean, quiet, fresh water at site, bathrooms, river, pool, crafts and pet friendly.
This was our first time tent camping. We got one of the tent sites right on the river. It was perfect. The bathrooms are so clean. The water was nice and hot. I can’t say enough nice things about this place. Go and find out for yourself.
They have an area where they keep goats and the peacocks roam free here. People seem to be respectful of everyone’s property and everyone looks out for each other’s kids. The kids play in the playground or by the river. We’ve found turtles, birds nests and little lizards. Definitely a place I would consider when it’s my time to purchase my camper!
What a fantastic place! I live 10 minutes from the place, but if I lived hours away I’d still make the long drive. We stayed in a cabin which was perfect. The mothers day activities for the kids was really cool. Great job to the owners and staff!
Super-clean and family friendly! Pool was crystal clear. Lots of activities for the kids. Seasonal folks have great pride and keep their sites clean and pretty. Friendly atmosphere–especially the staff. Can’t wait to go back!
This place is a hidden gem. If your looking for that true campground essence then this is absolutely the place to go. Tucked away in the woodsy backroads of Connecticut I truly felt like I was camping. I brought my family here last weekend and it was truly an unforgettable experience. My 6 year old son had the time of his life and hasn’t stop talking about his weekend to everyone he comes across. Plenty of things to keep the kids and adults busy here if you’re a true camper and enjoy a true campground. We will be returning!!
This was a wonderful find. We came across it by chance and I’m glad we did. Wonderful, quiet family campground. Beautiful setting which provides great river and pond access. You won’t feel crowded.
LOVE. THIS. CAMPGROUND. Ive been going annually for four years now. It is a blast. In May they have a Military Appreciation weekend that falls on Armed forces weekend. I will always recommend them here. They have good food at great prices and ice cream! The bathrooms, showers and laundry areas are clean and always well kept.
The trees are beautiful and the landscaping is truly amazing. They have landscaped every part of this campground and made the small attention to details really beautiful. Our campsite was very spacious and it was treed so we had shade and sun. The campground is immaculate and very well-kept. We are definitely planning on coming back here.
Great sites and amenities. Friendly staff. Clean bathrooms. What else can one ask for? Cable TV included. Will go again.
I came to hidden acres campground with my best friend and her family. I am so happy they introduced me to this place. Everyone is so friendly! The seasonals welcomed me like family. They have so many activities and a beautiful river. Can’t wait to go back again and bring my family!
Hands down, my favorite place to camp. This is a family owned business and they provide a peaceful quiet campground that has a little something for everyone. The bathrooms are squeaky clean and the little diner serves burgers, sandwiches and breakfast but tastes absolutely great. Folks are friendly (probably because they are happy) and respectful of your privacy. Cannot say enough good things about this gorgeous campground with wild peacocks and a moonlit river!
Very relaxing. Staff was cheerful and friendly. There was always someone cleaning, wiping down tables and keeping it in tip top shape. Excellent job. The river offered beautiful views and enjoyment for recreation. The pool was average size, but very clean. Another reviewer did mention there was an awful lot of seasonal campers, not that it made a difference to us. Our site offered water, sewer and cable TV, but we weren’t there to watch TV. The site was nicely shaded and the property was very well kept up. We will be returning in September to enjoy their facilities again.
I usually go about once a month from the time they open until the time they close up the campground. Everyone is friendly and pleasant to be around. The bathrooms and showers are always clean and tidy with plenty of supplies. If anything is needed, she is always on top of the campers needs.
